Take me to the river

„Take me to the river.”
Jimmie Durham, Per Dybvig, Jone Kvie
15 November 2019 – 13 March 2020

The Hermann Noack Workshop Gallery is showing a group exhibition of these three outstanding artists and sculptors for the first time.

Jimmie Durham (b. 1940), known for his life's work as the winner of the 2019 Venice Golden Lion, is considered a political conceptual artist who is particularly committed to the rights of indigenous peoples. Durham takes an ironic look at Western notions of Native American art and works mainly with materials such as stone, wood and bronze.

The Norwegian Jone Kvie (born 1971) has been associated with the Hermann Noack foundry for many years and is showing more recent socially critical works in the group exhibition, which the public can look forward to.

The trio is complemented by the figurative works of renowned book illustrator Per Dybvig (born 1964), who playfully and humorously addresses everyday situations.
