With its 16 tonnes of poured bronze, the Red Bull project was certainly one of the largest projects in the company's history.
The new headquarters of the well-known energy drink Red Bull was designed both architecturally and sculpturally by the Austrian artist Jos Pirkner (born 1927).
The complex, which consists of several building sections, an artificial lake and the giant sculpture we made - all designed by Pirkner - opened in 2014. He spent a total of six years doing little other than the "Bullen von Fuschl" (Bull of Fuschl). The result is a project between building and spatial sculpture. You could say it was a giant work of art that took years to design and produce at the Hermann Noack foundry.
The herd of 14 larger-than-life bulls with a total weight of 20 tonnes is one of the largest bronze sculptures in Europe. Red Bull founder Mateschitz came up with the saying "Jos-mach!" (Jos, do it!) - we are curious to see which project we will be able to realise for the Pirkner-Mateschitz duo in the future.
